Something Better

When we think we are doing the right thing, and the outcome is not what we planned, it is difficult. We all spend a great deal of time and energy trying. We try to make others happy. We try to do a good job. We try to be good employees or employers. The problem is that sometimes we just do not approach something the way another person would, and we have to accept that our way may not be the preferred way, when someone else gets to call the shots.

 

I think this is especially true with artists. There is a great deal of rejection when you are an actor or a singer. Think about it. You have to pull together the courage to audition, and just because your hair may be brown, and the director wants a blonde, you won’t get the job. Regardless of how talented you are. Not letting rejection affect you in a negative way is an art, all by itself.

 

Successful people develop a “thick skin.” While you are in the process of being rejected, realize that your courage to continue is the only way you can bring success to your future. Learn from people that communicate poorly; how you don’t want to communicate. Decide that you are better and that you can do better. Smile when you don’t want to. Don’t focus on someone’s negative behavior, learn from it. Be the better person. Success will be yours!  Now let’s get going!” xo Sally

Inconsistency

I try to be consistent but I think I had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) before they decided it was a condition that was a distinct classification of its own. A friend of mine who is a neuropsychologist actually told me that AADD (Adult Attention Deficit Disorder) is an identified condition. (I immediately became concerned). He then told me “not to worry,” because it can be a very productive condition if you channel the energy correctly.

 

What that means in English is; if you find yourself working on thoughts, projects or business plans, allow your energy to flow to the areas of talent that you have. Come back to what you were working on and stay focused to finish the primary objective for your project, but don’t let a routine dictate your outcome. Think about how to channel your energy creatively, and allow yourself to believe that you can reach your goal through a pathway that may not seem conventional to those around you. Your pathway will work for you.

 

Many roads can arrive at the same destination. The experiences and scenery may look different on the journey, but don’t let anyone tell you that you will not be able to reach your goal. It’s yours. Believe in you. You are amazing and have more talent than you allow yourself to see. Develop your Goal. We can help you with your plan. Don’t let anyone or anything get in your way. Your Destiny

What is your Destiny? I don’t know how often you think about it, but now is as good of a time as any. Some people think that their destiny is the place they are headed, and they have no control over how or when they will get there. What do you think about your Destiny? What does it look like? What do want to achieve that will bring your spirit to a sense of fulfillment?

 

This weekend I would like you to spend some time developing thoughts about what your Destiny looks like. Realize that where you are going is clearly a pathway that you define.

 

It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you have experienced so far in life. Some people make bad choices and their choices lead them to a devastating destiny.

 

But good choices pave a path that you create, and can assure you of an objective that you want and is important to you.

Becoming Better

So here we are in 2014. You may think that it is just going to be a continuation of the same old thing. That thinking has got to go. You have to be aware that YOUR THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS.

If your thoughts are negative, most likely the outcome that you will experience will be negative too.

 

This philosophy is true with relationships, your ability to move on from your current job to another job, or even get involved in another relationship. What you think influences your actions, and your actions create your outcomes.

 

Living life is hard. We experience all kinds of things that eventually make us stronger, but in the meantime we can encounter situations that make us sad, fearful, and unhappy. All of those emotions are normal. What we want to do is grow with our experiences, and become better because of them.

 

So, direct your mind to think positive thoughts when you know you are headed in a negative direction. Stop yourself from dwelling in the negative. Repeat to yourself: “I am a wonderful person and I believe that my positive energy will take over,” and continue to repeat it until the negative feelings are gone. They will go away because they will not get attention if you do not dwell on them. It takes some focus to change. Change is good. Now let’s get going!” xo Sally

Trust Yourself

Happy New Year! Start your new year off with the realization that you need to develop more trust in yourself. Maybe you have made some mistakes. The best part is that you can be grateful for the mistakes that you made, because you learned from them. In fact mistakes allow us to grow and develop better skills to avoid making those same mistakes again.

 

No one is perfect, so don’t try to talk yourself out of reaching your goals this year. Silence the negative voices in your head. Replace them with positive images of you being successful at what you want to make a living doing.

 

Trust yourself to make better choices. If you don’t know how to move forward and reach a goal that you have, believe that you have what it takes to figure out how to get half way there. By surrounding yourself with like- minded people you will realize that you are not alone in your desire to be better and more successful this year. The negative experiences that you have had in your past can be turned into grateful experiences, because they will be the foundation that you will build on to develop your strength.

The Road To Truth

When you start on your journey to create new strength and work on your goals for next year, determine what your truth is. What is it that you know to be true about yourself?

Are you doing all you can do to move toward your goals and dreams? Are you slacking off and making excuses for not working towards the better you?

Each day we have a choice, and we can choose to carve out a new path. You can choose to do whatever you need to do to be healthier, stronger and learn more. There has never been a time where information is so easy to access. You can work on your goals each day, little by little. Chip away at changing those behaviors that you know are holding you back.

Don’t sell yourself short. You know what you need to do to make yourself better! Don’t be afraid to start and do not be afraid to continue. Go all the way. Make it your personal goal to see it through this time. You are amazing and you can be successful. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. “Now let’s get going!” xo Sally

Rise Above The Storm

Since we are the verge of starting a new year, consider letting go of people and issues that cause you pain.  It isn’t easy to do.  Some of those people have been in our lives forever. 

I am not suggesting that relationships that need to be maintained should be removed.  What I am saying is that you do not need to tolerate negative behavior and mean spirited attitude, when you have done nothing to deserve it.  If it brings you down and prevents you from moving forward, move them over and keep moving.

We can choose our friends but not our family.  What do we do with family members that continue to cause us pain and upset?  See past them and believe that you are better than who they are.  Do not be the person that makes up excuses for bad behavior.  Change your attitude towards that bad behavior.  Continue to work on you and your goals for 2014.  Realize that you have gifts that make you special.  The world needs your gifts not your excuses.  Let’s make 2014 be the best year ever!   “Now let’s get going!” xo Sally

Goals for 2014

What were you doing at the beginning of this year? What was your focus? What were your goals and dreams for 2013? Were you able to work on them, or did something happen that prevented you from being able to do anything about it?

 

Picturing where you want to be or doing what you believe you were put on this earth to do is a critical step toward achieving it. Visualization of your goal is key.

 

If you were not able to do it in 2013, and life took you on a turn that you were not suspecting, do not use that as a reason to give up. Never give up on your goals. Even if life threw you a curve ball, and you find yourself in a different set of circumstances, you can still become what you want to be.

 

Do not settle for less than you want to accomplish. You may have to change your approach or modify your goal somewhat, but don’t allow negative thoughts to creep into your head and tell you that your goals are not possible!

 

We have a new year that is approaching, and I want you to write out your plan This Weekend. Put your goals for 2014 in writing and start mapping out how you want to get there.

 

After you write out your goals, take each month of 2014 and write out the steps you will accomplish each month to get there. Make them manageable steps-things you can see yourself achieving. You can then go one step further when you are in the actual month…but we can work on that together.

Family Dinners

Family dinners are a time to catch up with each other and spend captured time to listen to what is happening in the lives of those that mean the most to you. The holiday season is continuing to provide an extended time to have access to important people in your life, especially if they have traveled to visit, that you may not get a chance to see very often.

 

With all of the cell phones and snap chats and whatever else is going on with the cell phone users in your home, make a rule to leave the phones in another room during dinner, (for one hour) to avoid competing with technology while eating your meal. You may have limited opportunities to be with those that are around you this week. Make the most of your time.

 

The cell phone users will see that their lives will not end if they do not use their cell phones for one hour during dinner! That will be a great lesson that they may pass on to their families as well!
