"I have known and worked with Sally Thimm for over 15 years. We share an interest and a passion for working with individuals with Parkinson's and other neurological diseases, and we share a desire to empower patients and their carepartners through education and information. Sally is a one of a kind, never afraid to immerse herself into the lives of the patients she serves. Navigating the health care system can be overwhelming, but the good news is, you don't need to do it alone. Your membership in Sally Cares, is an opportunity for you, whether you are a person with a disablity or illness, a spouse or other family member, or professional, to hire Sally as your personal health care manager."

Sally is firmly committed to helping patients obtain the best medical care available to make their quality of life be as good as it gets. She is both passionate about this task and compassionate with the patient. I have never crossed paths with anyone more committed to the patient.

Sally has been a big help in adjusting different settings of my deep brain stimulator in my fight with Parkinsons Disease.

Very few neurologists involved in the management of patients with Parkinson’s disease and related disorders have the privilege of working with Occupational Therapists with the experience and clinical skills that Sally possesses. For over 15 years, Sally has been exclusively dedicated to this field. Her comprehensive understanding of the clinical and surgical treatments of these diseases have made her a corner stone for our multidisciplinary approach in the diagnose and management of these often complex conditions. Most importantly, her relentless desire to see patients enjoying their very best functional status makes her an invaluable asset to our "clinic without walls.

I always do feel you helped us a lot and I wish you could be up here in MN with us. I'm always telling Romie to stand up straight, look forward, and count. It does help.

Sally has been of tremendous help to us. She has done so much to make our home safer for my husband, even picking up equipment that he needed and delivering it to us. When we had some grab bars installed, she came here to see that they were placed in the right position. Plus, she has worked to see that my husband gets the right therapy.. Once she even drove us to Punta Gorda to see my husband's doctor, which is above and beyond what would be expected of her. We think highly of Sally and would definitely recommend her.

I remember as soon as my wife was released from the hospital and brought home, Sally was immediately there to get her started on her stroke recovery. How she outlined the exercises times and materials to make it all happen I'll never forget, including the lbs. of rice my wife had to sort through blindfolded to find a key or bolt or some other object as part of her therapy.

I would like to comment on Sally as an occupational therapist, from our experience with my wife Janet who suffered a very crippling stroke 15 years ago. Janet had therapy in the hospital where I could see no advance in her condition. After the hospital discharge we were recommended to another physical therapist in Port Charlotte, and this also produced no changes that we could see. Janet, my wife, was a type of person who put everything she could into what ever she was doing and this included therapy. We went to several therapists with not many advances in her condition. We came in contact with Sally who was running a therapy clinic. That was when we began to see changes in Janet's left hand. It was swollen very bad from the stroke, and with all of the therapy she had been through, no one had done anything to correct this condition. Sally made a change in her hand condition in short order that others had attempted but were unable to help. Sally has the knowledge and ability "to do" what seems that other therapists cannot do. Janet began to walk with some assistance under her care. Sally's knowledge and determination is not to be questioned in my opinion. She is constantly studying to better her therapy for her patients. I would honestly say with out a doubt, that she is the best, most caring, and striving to learn constantly.

Sally is a premier professional who is knowledgeable, personable and truly concerned about the welfare of both her clients and their caregivers who often suffer more stress than the patient. Her understanding of my husband’s disease far surpasses that of many hospital-trained medical professionals. She is an excellent advocate who works long and hard for everyone. Sally’s guidance and genuine interest earn her 5 stars in my book!
