Stay Two Steps Ahead

Choosing who you spend time with and spend time on is important for your success. If you know that there are certain friends, co-workers, family members, or neighbors that seem to always be taking about someone; watch out! Depending on what day it is, you could be the next topic of conversation.

The point is, that you need to look at the people you associate with and decide today who is a positive influence in your life, and who isn’t.

People who want to see you grow and improve are critical to your success. People who are negative and tell you that you won’t be able to rise higher or do better; ignore their comments and put some distance between you and them. Realize that you are ahead of the negative people who gossip about anybody and everybody.

Hold your head high. Believe that your mission is to be good and do well, and practice it daily. Your success lies there. It is your foundation.   "Now, let's get going!"  xo Sally

Stay Warm!

A bad weather day in Florida is better than a bad weather day anywhere else! It is pretty cold here, but I would bet that it is colder where you are!

Don’t let the weather dampen your spirits today. Do something different. Even if it is taking the time to read a magazine or clean out a drawer.

What would make you feel like you have accomplished something? Think about it and work on it. If you don’t finish it, you will finish it tomorrow.  Have a great day and an even better weekend! Make something happen that improves your world! “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally

Life Is Not Impossible

Everyone is dealing with something. We get new things thrown our way each day that we may not be expecting, and most likely are not ready for. When that happens, don’t feel inadequate and upset. Look at it a different way.

When you are given something to handle that you feel is beyond your ability, just know that life is hard. Once you accept that simple fact, things get easier. Faith can take you to a new level of awareness. Believe that you can learn how to manage your situation, even though you may not feel equipped at the time. If you have no idea how to manage a problem you are facing, the worst thing you can do is try to ignore it. It will continue to grow into a bigger issue, and you will wear yourself out with worry.

Put your shoulders back, take a deep breath and say “I’ve got this.” Because you will get it, and you will manage it…and you will be proud of yourself when you do. You are amazing! “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally

Two Types of Failure

Putting new ideas and thoughts into action, to make you a better person, takes some energy. We all have ideas of things that we would like to learn or do differently. We may not know how to do it, but that does not mean that it can’t be done.

For the next few days I want you to think about what you would like to be able to do differently, to grow your skills. Whatever your goal may be. Whether you want to develop more patience, more skills to make caregiving easier, or just learn how to do something you have wanted to learn for years.  It can be done.

Grow yourself the right way. If you want to learn more, go to people that are doing what you want to learn how to do. Start going to groups that can lift you up. Learn how to communicate well. Do not believe that you have “nothing” to offer, because everything you have learned to this point, has brought you to where you are today.

No time has been wasted. Let’s focus on bringing ourselves up to a higher level. The only thing you need to focus on is deciding what you want in your life. Make it happen!

Having Peace While You Worry!

No matter what you are going through or have been through, believe that the problems will pass. What is happening today is helping you learn some type of skill. Whether it is patience, having to change how you approach something, or learn a different way to look at what you are facing, those skills will help you down the road.

In the meantime, how do you cope? What do you ask for? Start by being grateful for what is good in your life. Fill your mind with positive images of things that give you peace and bring you joy. Calm down. Breathe. Give yourself a minute to catch up to yourself.

Pray for peace in your heart and pray that you can be a light to others that may be struggling with some of the same issues.  We’re all struggling with something. You are not alone. We are all here to help each other. “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally

Have vs. Want

Have you ever noticed how difficult we make things for ourselves?

When we have challenges; like caring for a loved one, financial issues, relationship struggles, and any number of things we face each day, we have a choice.

We can choose to take a deep breath and think of the positive things that are happening in our lives, or choose to focus on the negative things that we allow to chip away at our ability to focus.

Choose the positive. Think of what you are learning from past mistakes, which may have brought you to the place you are finding yourself in with your relationship or your finances. Believe that you will not repeat the same mistakes, and that you have learned how to change your behavior to make that your new reality.

Caregivers; choose to focus on the good memories that you have shared with your loved one, and believe that the challenges that are taking place today will allow you to show compassion and caring. Want to be your best. It makes it so much easier. “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally

How Hard Do You Have It?

Life can be hard, but last time I checked, that wasn’t necessarily a news flash. Our goal today is to realize that life is hard, accept it, and be determined that your day is still going to turn out well.

We all have friends and family members that are struggling with something. It may be a health issue or it could be a relationship or financial problem. Everybody is dealing with something.

The way to successfully get further, is to realize that we need to concentrate on positive thinking. We need to stop focusing on negative thoughts.

If you are a caregiver and you have had it up to your eyeballs with frustration, just start your day saying, “I am not going to let today be anything less than fabulous.”

When negative feelings creep into your head, show them the door. Let those thoughts and fears find another home. You don’t have space in your brain to allow negative thoughts to stay there and take root.

It’s time to give those negative thoughts a new zip code. They need to move…and you need to realize that you have that power. Let your light shine today! Be the gift to others that you know you can be. No more excuses! “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally

Loving Your Life

Are you loving your life? It all comes down to this; nothing is perfect, wishing rarely changes things, but having faith that there is a reason that you are living the life you have been given, may change your perspective.

We all have problems. We all have challenges. The goal for today is to keep smiling, regardless of what your circumstances are. Why is that important? If you approach the people you connect with – using a smile, you will change their energy…and change your own.

It is hard to stay frustrated or in a bad mood, if you smile. Look people in the eye. Smile and mean it. Don’t avoid eye contact. Stop ignoring how you can be a blessing to someone else. Start your day with an attitude of gratitude, and smile.

See where that gets you. I’ll bet you could turn it into a habit. Love your life. Time goes too quickly to not take advantage of every minute. “Now let’s get going!”  xo Sally

What Are Your Present Blessings?

When you are going through a trying situation, it may be hard to see what positive value it has. Life is not perfect and people are certainly not perfect.

Usually we react to what we are experiencing. Sometimes it is difficult to believe that a negative situation will ever end.

Here’s the challenge; believe that whatever you are going through did not come to stay, but it came to pass. Believe that because you are being forced to stretch outside of your comfort zone, to deal with the circumstances you find yourself in, you will be a better person for the experience.

What can you gain? Here is an opportunity to learn patience, understanding and recognize the blessings you have today. Make a list of the blessings you have. Be thankful for what you have, and the rest will follow. “Now, let’s get going!”  xo Sally
